"The hotel's location is pretty good, quite close to Zhangfuyuan subway station, about a 10-minute walk. There are also bus stops nearby, making transportation convenient. Plus, there's a street with many restaurants nearby, so dining is easy. The hotel is also quite easy to find, located right on the roadside. The front desk staff had an acceptable service attitude. I booked a mini-room, which was quite small, suitable for a shorter person. It was just enough for one person to sleep in. It's fine for a temporary stay while traveling. The bedding was clean, and there was no strange smell in the room. The hotel generally looks newly renovated and very new, but the lack of odor is a big plus for those sensitive to smells. The soundproofing, however, is very poor, almost non-existent. Other than that, everything else is fine. The service attitude is decent. If you don't have high expectations for accommodation and just need a place to sleep, it's highly recommended. Additionally, it's about two kilometers from Xinjiekou, a roughly 30-minute walk. Taking a taxi would save more time. This location isn't too far or too close to other tourist attractions; it's in the central area of the old city."

"Facilities: Both my family and I were pleasantly surprised. Cleanliness: The two large beds were crisp and clean, looking very comfortable. Environment: The overall space inside was quite large, looking exactly like the pictures. It didn't feel cramped, and accommodating three or four people would be no problem. The two beds were quite big, and most importantly, the shower room was also good and spacious, which my family was very happy about. The photos are true to life. Service: The front desk staff and the hotel manager had incredibly good service attitudes; they were very warm and helpful, patiently assisting us with anything we needed. Oh, and there's also a washing machine, which the manager even disinfected for us, which was quite nice. In short, my family and I are quite satisfied! Excellent value for money."

"This hotel is incredibly close to Nanjing South Railway Station. The front desk staff, especially one lovely lady, was super nice and answered all our questions. They even upgraded our room on the second night! The deluxe twin room was spacious with comfortable bedding. There's a shopping area right downstairs where we enjoyed Heytea and tried duck blood vermicelli soup, making it perfect for a girls' weekend in Nanjing. It's really convenient to get anywhere from Nanjing South Station by subway, and the hotel even gave us a complimentary coffee ☕. It was truly a delightful trip to Nanjing!"

"I've stayed here twice now. The surrounding area is great, right in the Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) scenic zone. There are lots of food options, and it's easy to order takeout. There's a terrace outside the lobby, which I think is a bar. Besides the hostel dorm rooms, they also have regular hotel rooms, so there's a proper front desk for check-in, and the staff are very friendly. The location is also easy to find, unlike some hostels that are hidden away. Inside, for the quadruple room, the steps to the top bunk are built into the wall, which makes them very sturdy, and the beds are spacious. The public washing areas are separated by gender. They provide bottled water, paper cups, and disposable dental kits. On the downside, the soundproofing isn't great, and some rooms without windows feel a bit cramped. The toilets are Western-style, not squat toilets, and the shower stalls are so small that I found it a bit hard to breathe while showering."

"I stayed here for three nights and was a bit disappointed. Apart from the convenient location, the place could really use some improvement. The facilities were not very clean and seemed poorly maintained. When I arrived, there were small insects in the room, the toilets had a strong unpleasant smell, and the showers were not very clean. While the prices are affordable, it doesn’t quite make up for the lack of proper upkeep. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk were friendly and welcoming."

EE0387****This time, I revisited Nanjing with my parents. 47 years ago, they chose Nanjing for their honeymoon, and I've always wanted to bring them back to see it again. After some research, I decided on Mercure. Here's my take on the Mercure: 1. There are quite a few hotels near Xinjiekou subway station, and Mercure is just a short walk from the exit. Compared to prices on various platforms, Mercure offers pretty good value for money. 2. The hotel is a standalone building. Each floor doesn't have many rooms, probably around ten. There are two elevators, and you need your key card to access the floors. Food deliveries are handled by robots, which is both safe and convenient. 3. The rooms are quite soundproof. Our room was directly across from the elevator, and at night, unless people were getting off the elevator and talking loudly in the hallway, we generally weren't disturbed. 4. One of the windows in the room can be opened, which is great for people like us who prefer natural airflow. 5. The air conditioning in the room was quite powerful. We all tend to get hot easily, so we tested out the cooling function. 6. The shower had great water pressure and was nice and hot. After a long day of sightseeing, a good shower is very refreshing, especially for someone like me who loves a really hot shower – many hotels' water temperatures just don't cut it for me. The full set of toiletries also had a scent I liked; it was very fresh. 7. The hotel's breakfast offered a good variety, the fruit was fresh, and the hot dishes tasted pretty good. However, the preserved egg and lean pork congee was truly indescribable; I took one bite and couldn't continue. The plain congee, though, was quite nice. Minor drawbacks: 1. The building isn't very tall, and there's a very high building next to it, so there isn't much of an open view. 2. The room felt a bit small.

The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.

There's an outlet mall nearby, within walking distance, but I didn't go. The styles and brands weren't that impressive. GGrace CallejaMy 82 year old mom, sister and myself booked a 2BR suite at this place for 3nights and 4 days. We were in Nanjing for a leisurely vacation from the Philippines. The place is very unassuming. A modest entrance and lobby but the room, beddings, towels, bathrobes, toiletries and even slippers were top-notch!. Loved the scent of their shampoo and body wash. The suite itself and the rooms were very spacious. Even the toilets are spacious! My mom even chided that it was tiring to walk from one room to the other! The rooms and toilets were equipped with automatic curtains and blinds. Although most of the staff could barely speak any English, everyone was very kind, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast buffet that is packaged with the room stay was also superb! So many choices despite few guests. It was mostly a spread of Chinese dishes but I couldn't ask for more! There is a free laundry room in the building! There is a small convenience store and a Luckin Coffee at the ground floor of the building. It is also very easy to get a taxi just outside the building. Added Bonus: this place is just a few steps away from the famous Librairie Avant-Garde (the IG worthy bookstore). Overall, I love Suning Universal Hotel All-Suites! I highly recommend it to all travelers who plan to visit Nanjing. Attached photo is taken from the ground floor of the hotel.

AAnonymous UserWe arrived at night and walked from Dongliu subway station. There was no light outside and the road was pitch black, which was scary. After arriving, there was no light and we walked around in a circle. It was not easy to find. In fact, it is located near the southeast of the community and is easier to find during the day. The bed is right at the entrance of the room, and you can hear people coming and going in the corridor. The sound insulation is average. The newly opened hotel is fairly clean. There is a foul smell in the bathroom, I don’t know if it is related to the weather. There is a storefront at the west gate of the community where you can have breakfast. The advantage is the affordable price.

The hotel staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The room has large windows with a great view, and the recent good weather in Nanjing made it perfect for sightseeing. The breakfast offered many local Nanjing snacks, and I particularly enjoyed the sweet lotus root porridge~

PPatrickeblevinsMy wife and I are trying our best to have children but it has been very challenging. We needed a place close the hospital and decided to try Qingmu hotel because it was conveniently located and looked comfortable from the outside and had mostly positive reviews on trip.com. As a foreigner who speaks very little mandarin I was concerned about communication with the hotel staff. But I was pleasantly surprised with how efficiently they handled this problem. We were able to chat with help of WeChat and google translate. They also knew more English than I thought they would. Soon we were very friendly and found a productive way to communicate my needs and get the best room possible. They also helped with our travel bags and provided water and a snack. I felt very happy and comfortable with their services and they made this feel like a home more than a hotel stay. The room was very inviting and smelled freshly cleaned. The bed was very comfortable and my wife has had back pain but said that the bed was perfect for her. It was nice that they were able to store our medication in a temperature controlled fridge while we continued to work towards conception. We had a wonderful view of the city and the bathroom had essentials to aid in freshening up between sessions. The shower had hot water and a removable head and could fit two people. We had access to a microwave oven to warm our lunch and a laundry center to catch up on our travel clothing cleaning needs. The hotel is located close to the subway and is surrounded by many restaurants and other forms of entertainment. Staying here during the Chinese New Year you could feel the festivities all around you, with brightly colored decorations and music. The hotel was also pleasantly decorated with flowers in our rooms as well as in the lobby. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great stay, for an even better price, my wife and I will definitely return here. I attached some photos of my stay below.
